the sitting-down comeback tour

recovery is where the real story lives, so here's the honest timeline. weeks 1–2: dressing changes every other day, sleeping on my stomach, working from bed like a renaissance painting. weeks 3–4: stitches out, walking normally, sitting on the donut cushion for short stretches. week 6: first full workday in a real chair. week 12: i genuinely forgot which side it was on.

the dressing changes sound scarier than they are. i had a local nurse come home for the first two weeks (₹200 a visit, worth every rupee), then managed the last few myself with a mirror and misplaced confidence. the wound closed clean, on schedule, with zero drama — which, after months of flare-ups, felt almost suspicious.

the first time i sat through an entire movie in a normal chair, i almost cried. over a chair.

the follow-ups with dr. nazir were video calls — she checked the healing photos, adjusted nothing because nothing needed adjusting, and discharged me from care in may with a recurrence-prevention list: keep the area hair-free, don't sit for 3+ hours without a break, and come back if anything ever feels off. it hasn't. it's been silence. the good kind.

if you're at the start of this and reading from your own weird sideways lean: it ends. not with managing, not with flare-up roulette — it actually, fully ends. get the right surgeon, do the boring recovery properly, and one unremarkable day you'll realise you sat down without thinking about it. that's the whole prize. it's enough.

that's the saga. poke around the files, check the damage in the costs section, and drop your questions in any chapter's comments — i answer all of them. one healed butt to another: you've got this.

✶ NOTE TO YOU, FUTURE SITTER
total time from first ache to fully healed: 9 months. total time it would've taken if i'd gone to a doctor in week one: probably 5. be smarter than me.
